Can ageing really be slowed down?

Science is making a lot of progress in the longevity space.

The fountain of youth.

Besides turning cheap metals into gold, it was also thought to be the elixir of life, making eternal youth possible. Or think of a more modern example like the movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” where the protagonist just doesn’t age. Reversing ageing has now become attainable.

People have been fascinated with trying to find the fountain of youth for thousands of years. Remember the philosopher’s stone? Not the one from Harry Potter but the artefact alchemists were trying to find.

Science is catching up.

Eternal youth is no longer the space of alchemists and snake oil salesmen. Scientists, like prof. David Sinclair from Harvard Medical School, are claiming ageing is a disease that will be cured within our lifetimes. They are saying that soon therapies will become available that can take years of our biological age and we could potentially repeat these therapies over and over again.

Scientists are already able to extend the lives of mice by up to 40% by simple strategies such as calorie restriction and dietary supplements. Human studies show promising results as well.

Anti-ageing is going to be big in the 21st century.

Anti-ageing is going to be big in the 21st century according to many experts. “There is an increasing number of people realising that the concept of anti-ageing medicine that actually works is going to be the biggest industry that ever existed by some huge margin, and that it just might be foreseeable,” Aubrey de Grey (British longevity scientist).

We can’t cure ageing yet, but there’s already a lot you can do. As scientists have discovered the reasons why we age, they are also finding molecules that can work against these causes. Our products have been based on the latest peer reviewed scientific research and have been reviewed by our scientific board to make sure they’re effective and safe.

Longevity therapies are an investment for the long run.

Be mindful that anti-ageing therapies are an investment for the long run. You won’t feel any different overnight. The first effects are only kicking in after a couple of months. The best thing to do to measure the effects of longevity therapies is to do a biological age lab test regularly. These kinds of tests show your body’s age compared to an average person. If your biological age is going down and lower than your chronological age, you’ll know the therapies are kicking in. We will soon be offering such a test on our platform.

The science behind ageing is evolving fast.
